Textile Specialty Group

Azemmour_embroidery__Morocco__18th_century.jpgFormed in 1982, the purpose of the Textile Specialty Group is to support the professional development of textile conservators. The group includes conservators working at museums, in private practice, universities, regional centers, and training programs and provide a valuable professional network for textile conservation. Members focus on a wide range of subjects, materials research and analysis, case studies, techniques, costume, tapestry and upholstery conservation, and archaeological and ethnographic issues.

  • Due February 15, 2019 - The Achievement Award Nomination Form

    Each year, during the annual meeting of the AIC, the Textile Specialty Group presents an Achievement Award to an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the field of textile conservation or to an entity that has promoted, defended or worked in support of the importance of textiles and their need for preservation. The Nomination Form and two statements should be sent to awards@conservation-us.org by Tuesday February 15, 2019. The subject line should read "2019 TSG Achievement Award Nomination: name of nominee".
  • Now Accepting Names for the 2019-2020 Term

    The Nominating Committee is now accepting names for the 2019-2020 term year. Open TSG positions are Vice-Chair, Secretary, Nominating Committee, Awards Committee, Scholarship Committee and Postprints Committee. Please contact the TSG Nominating Committee or the TSG Chair if you know someone or you yourself are interested in a TSG Leadership Role.
